I am an amateur artist (in that this is not my day job) living in Surrey. I find sketching and painting to be very therapeutic, but the real reason for producing art is for the enjoyment and appreciation of others. We are all individuals and have our own likes and dislikes. I hope that at least some of you will like at least some of my work.
Born in 1969 in small town of Sumperk in the Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia at the time. Attended art school for about a year at the age of six. The school sent one of his works to Gallery in Prague. Then he joined a local ice hockey club and quit the art school. At age 11, his family moved to Macedonia and that meant an end to his ice hockey carrier. He won some art competitions in high school, but never considered art as his life's path. He studied Architecture, yet spent his life working in a casino business. At age 45, after he suffered a heart attack, he finally let his talent loose, discovering that art is, what he was born to do. He hopes to catch up all years lost and become a professional artist. His work goes from surrealistic realism to a common landscape, yet style remains purely realistic. However, in future he promises to move through more different styles, for he loves challenge and wants to discover the extent of his potential.
Richard studied a BA at Cambridge University before working in the commercial sector.
He now works for Maurice and Charles Saatchi.
His work is almost exclusively from life studies of the figure. He uses wandering lines, shimmering tones and drips to evoke the essence of the figure, without being slave to its form. More at www.richardstorey.com
Jean Tatton Jones has sold paintings internationally to individuals and to corporate groups, including medical and dental centres, restaurants and offices. Some of her work has recently been on display at the Dock Gallery in Goole at No Man’s Land Gallery in Aberdeenshire, the Isle of Wight and Barewall Gallery in Burslem. She graduated from a British university and has also won awards for poetry which has been published in North America, Europe, India and Britain.
She uses a variety of art media including watercolour, acrylic and oil and her themes include landscapes, sea views, creatures, flowers and abstract design. Some of her recent work has a dream like quality and is born from our rich cultural heritage of myths, legends and poetry which evokes feelings of mystery and enchantment.
She is adept at capturing maximum atmosphere with minimal detail.
Many of her latest items are painted in acrylic on double duck, acid free, gesso primed canvas. The paintings come initialled on the front, signed and dated on the back and with a Certificate of Authenticity. They are on a frame with painted gallery edges, so are ready to hang.
Ever since I could hold a paintbrush I have been painting and creating; through school and university I've always enjoyed being an artist. If I find something beautiful or inspiring, I'm all the more compelled to challenge myself to capture it in a painting. Nature is the most incredible thing and I particularly enjoy creating abstract and figurative art from nature. Most of all, as I enjoy creating my paintings and the feel of the paint under my brush, I hope that you also enjoy viewing them. If they make you smile and brighten your day, then I am happy.
I am a self taught artist and as far as I can remember I have always been interested in painting. Painting and drawing is something that helps me relax and unwind..and I am glad that the outcome of it is something that people can look at and maybe feel the same way as I felt when painting them. Mostly what I paint depends on how I feel at the time..and I was born and brought up in India and some of my paintings may have some Indian influenced themes too. I am deeply interested in understanding the minute fabric of our existence and I think sometimes that comes through in my paintings. I also love perfectioning the minute details..Hope you enjoy some of my paintings!! Love & Light
I have always had a passion for art and drawing since I can remember but have never had the chance to go to college or art classes and have just practised my natural talent for drawing over the years.
I specialise in pencil drawings as this is my preferred media. I have a keen eye for detail and like my drawings to be as realistic as possible. I do commissioned work as well as working on pictures I just felt compelled to draw for others to enjoy and sample my work.
Michelle lives and works on the south coast in Seaford. From a Textile and Design background she now works as a painter and designer.
Artworks are often inspired by the landscape, and in particular the work of "Land Artists".
"We aspire to leave our mark, inscribing our observations and gestures within the landscape, attempting to translate and transgrss the space within which we find ourselves."
