Invisible? by Natasha Allen
Materials: photograph, Provenance: property of the artist
My work is predominantly figurative and inspired by a personal love of fashion illustration, pattern and decorative art from the early 1900’s.
I love the fluidity of watercolour and the way 2 colours can blend and run into each other, creating unique patterns as they dry.
I have a loose, romantic style of painting which is controlled with black ink.
For inspiration, I look towards many painters and textile artists.
In particular I have found guidance from the work of Gustav Klimt, Alfons Mucha, William Morris, Edgar Degas, Gary Hume and Georgia O’Keefe.
