artbuyer said: Artbuyer an enthusiastic but complete art novice, on a quest to understand what makes great art and aiming to buy artwork solely from Bigartspace using help and advice of the buyers and artists exhibiting. This is part 1, of his weekly bulletin.
Hello folks, well this is my first posting on my one-man quest to populate my house with affordable artwork straight from this site. I aim to do this through the recommendations from others and through my own selection.
I have not bought work of art ever in my 32 year life, so my opinion of art is somewhat primitive. However it is still a valid view i think :-)
What will I be looking for? Well, I’m looking for colourful and large works to fill my spacious living room. The room is modern (light wooden flooring with minimal furniture)
My current favourites on site: Jason O’Donovan appeared on the site recently and his work, Field of Poppies caught my eye, although slightly out of my price bracket (i'm aiming for no more than £150 a piece at present) – I was sorely tempted though Jason. If you would consider £150 for it I might well take it off your hands.
I also thought Wade Stephen’s Study of Nephews was really good. Personally I prefer Wade’s lighter hearted work, although can see there is a lot of passion in his other work.
Degree Shows in LondonI walked past Central St Martin’s College this week and saw that the Degree shows are on. Does anyone know whether anyone go look round? Perhaps someone can let me know.
A little request Bigartspace folksHi folks at Bigartspace, I like posting in here but if you fancy setting up a weekly column area where me (and others!) could put up our own column i'd love it!
That's it for this week. Thank you for reading and please do add a comment me your thoughts and replies.

artbuyer said: Has anyone been to the John Constable exhibition at Tate Britain yet? (further details on the exhibition are here: http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/exhibitions/constable/ ) Apparantly it brings together the landscapes of the Stour together for the first time, i'm pretty excited about this given that i grew up in the Dedham, Flatford area where the pictures were painted.
