like this one. the lines on the surface remind me of those staples used in 'crude' victorian ceramic restorations.

Thank you for your comments - not sure if I've seen the ceramic restorations you mention, but I like the sound of it! The lines, in case you are interested, are cut glass rod kiln fired into pate de verre (crushed glass).
