A painting produced by LS Lowry in 1938 comes fresh to the market after 57 years in a private collection. The work, ‘A Fairground’ shows a scene in Beswick, Manchester. Sotheby's describe this as “a new and momentous addition to the currently known… …work by the artist". When auctioned on December 13, and is estimated to fetch £700,000+. The record price for a Lowry painting is the £3.7m in June for Good Friday, Daisy Nook. 0 replies to this topic.
